Living in Melbourne we are spoilt for choice when it comes to the perfect date night destination. So much so it can be difficult to decide on where exactly to go. No need to worry though, not only does Her Wardrobe provide you with the perfect outfit for date night, she also brings you the perfect location too! After much deliberation she has decided on her top five restaurants, and the perfect dresses to match each date night destination.

38 Chairs - Bond St, South Yarra

This cosy restaurant provides an authentic Italian experience in the heart of South Yarra. The intimate setting is perfect to share a bottle of wine and a bowl of pasta, made from recipes passed down from owner, Gino Forlano’s, nonna. You’ll think you have been transported to Italy after a night at 38 chairs.

Neptune Food & Wine - High Street, Windsor

Low lit and moody is the vibe at Neptune Food & Wine, this is why we picked it. Enjoy a cocktail at the long bar or for more privacy sit in one their many booths. The food here is inspired by the Mediterranean, so shuck an oyster or two and dive into their famous seafood. If you buy a bottle and can’t finish it, Neptune will keep it in a whisky locker so you can come back for date number 2!

Tipo 00 - Bourke Street, CBD

Do not underestimate the size of Tipo 00, this small restaurant produces food that does not disappoint. The fresh white marble surroundings paired with copper accents provides a sophisticated yet relaxed scene. Their staff have great attention to detail, they will make sure you wine is perfectly matched with your dinner and that your glass never sits empty. She recommends the truffle risotto as it will melt in your mouth and paired a glass of red wine, this makes for the perfect romantic night.

Black Pearl - Brunswick Street, Fitzroy

This is the perfect venue to be propped against the bar discussing cocktails or getting cosy on the sofas and ottomans. The drinks are all created in house, a collection of spirits carefully mapped out so you are not stuck for choice. If you and your date feel a bit peckish, bar snacks are available until 10pm. She has heard you must try the sausage rolls!

Naked for Satan - Brunswick St, Fitzroy

Influenced by the Spanish bars of Barcelona and San Sebastian, this venue has the perfect atmosphere for date night. Begin with the tapas or a glass of pintxos downstairs - you’ll have to ask the staff for more information on the myth of the Russian mobster that reportedly operated the stills to make vodka in the nude. Afterwards, head upstairs to Naked in the sky where you can end your night by looking over the beautiful Melbourne city skyline.
