Winter has many upsides - hot drinks, hearty meals and fireplaces - but the cooler weather can make it incredibly hard to find the perfect outfit for a special occasion. With restaurants opening up, we're all ready to go out again but... what to wear? A dress that gives you that extra bit of warmth whilst still looking glam sounds perfect. Whether it be long sleeves for extra protection, thicker fabrics to keep you toasty, or a dress that works great with boots and a jacket - She knows just the right styles to tick all the boxes. Here are Her favourite winter dresses and how to style them so you can look amazing without shivering.
THE LONG SLEEVE
She has many new long-sleeved arrivals in store right now that are sure to keep you warm. Here are some of Her favourites:
Arielle Dress - with a soft velvet feel, this dress will keep you warm whilst feeling great on your skin. Fitted to the body but with a gathered waist, it's flattering and still lets you show a bit of skin. Pair with boots to finish the look.
Jasmine Dress - a long-sleeved, sparkly option that isn't too out there, this dress exudes sophistication. Small splits on each side of the leg ensure it's not too heavy. Could easily be worn with stockings and boots for added warmth.
Lucy Dress - similar to the Arielle dress but with more glitz, the Lucy dress brightens up a winter's night. Being a slightly lighter fabric than the Arielle means it is great for those who don't feel the cold as much. Bring the look to life with metallic shoes!
Duet Dress - this show-stopping dress is sure to turn heads on your winter's night out. It allows you to be bright and eye-catching without forgoing warmth. The multi-coloured nature of this dress means it's easy to pair with lots of different accessories and is easily adaptable to many future occasions.
For those of us who feel the cold a bit more, here are some classics that look fantastic and provide extra warmth with their fabrics and style.
Horizon Ruche Midi - This dress has all the layers you need to stay warm. Fitted around the body it helps keep the heat in but has gorgeous layers of lace to ensure it's flattering. With the sleeves and solid bodice, you could even hide an extra layer underneath if needed. Plus, it also comes in navy.
Lush Dress - Another style in a warmer cut, but with long sleeves too. This dress hugs in all the right places and is a great option for bigger-busted women. Cut in a shiny fabric, it's a great way to add something extra to your night out.
Sierra Dress - This dress is cut from a thick lace that is sure to keep you warm. The cut-out detailing stops the dress from being too heavy but the lined bodice ensures you stay warm. In a crisp white, this is a dress that makes you feel fresh.
Mae Lace Long Sleeve Mini - Another great lace option that is warm but fun so you can break away from the traditional darker colours of winter. It does have a half-open back but looks great with a leather jacket and black boots.
GREAT WITH BOOTS AND A JACKET
If you still want to wear your favourite dress in winter, She recommends pairing it with boots/closed toe shoes and a jacket to ensure you stay warm. Here are Her favourite styles to pair with warmer accessories.
Icon Dress - Cut from a polyester blend, this dress is warm and works really well with suede black boots or heels. Her favourite combo is with thigh-high black boots for an extra special look. Pair with a faux fur or soft black jacket for added warmth.
Alessia Midi - A spring-time favourite, this dress is easily converted into a winter favourite too. This dress pairs really well with a black jacket or faux fur to give you added warm without looking out of place. It also looks great with a closed-toe black heel.
Estelle Mini - Usually most popular in the summer months, this dress is surprisingly adaptable to cooler weather. A great contrast is created by adding a black jacket and shoes. For a brighter option, accessorise with red.
Bellagio Mini - With a bit of glitz and glamour, this dress is the perfect party dress, but it's too cold on its own for winter. Warm it up with a black leather jacket (bonus if it has metallic details) and some black boots.
Don't have the right shoes or jacket to create a winter/perfect outfit? Here are Her suggestions:
If boots aren't quite working for you, you can't go past the Hart Pump by Billini. Available in black or nude, these shoes keep your toes warm and are perfect if you want to wear stockings for an added layer of warmth but don't want anyone to notice.
The Faux Fur Shrug is a great option to keep you warm whilst looking great and being eco-conscious. Available in three staple colours, it adds the perfect finishing touch to your winter look.
